Also, perhaps Miri knows Kai, my FOB Waterbender from the Northern Tribe, since their fathers are both merchants. Or maybe when they meet they help their fathers by suggesting they do business with each other xD lol.

I think Kai's father, Amaguq (it means "father wolf" AWWW) is a level-headed kind of guy when it comes to business but is very open-minded and likes to laugh a lot. He believes in the whole "customer service comes first", "business is about people", "quality over quantity" and "the secret to good business is offering only the best service/goods at a good price" kind of guy. They may be upper middle class, but he's still down to earth and genuine. A go-getter, but not a cut-throat.

OMG THE ENTIRE BOARD IS AN RP DISCUSSION RIGHT NOW AND I AM 100% OKAY WITH THIS.
Kat and I were talking about the idea of Kai and Mimi's dads knowing each other before hand. Maybe the girls don't know each other but since their dads are merchants it would be likely they know of each other.

Oooh. Well I think Myung runs all the errands for her father so she would at least come into contact with most people who own any kind of shop or anything?
I'm also thinking Myung's father somehow owes money to one of the Triads because it would be interesting to get that involved.
And I also think Myung would be really interested in knowing Kai because she is a waterbender and she would be like "Dude, my father is a waterbender, look at this technique he taught me! DO IT WITH ME =D"
And then all the other earthbenders would facepalm. "And you wonder why you suck at bending?"
I think Myung will be like "If only I was the Avatar :C"

HI LYSS.
I like him. He seems like someone that would get along with Mimi's dad (who I've just decided to name Makoto). Makoto knows business; that's how he's been so successful. He just has his vice ... the gambling issue. But he's a fun-loving, rather goofy guy when it comes to his personality--and he's got a lot of wisdom in there, even if he's got his issues. He could definitely be a friend that makes Amaguq laugh... though his lack of thriftiness might be a bit annoying to such a disciplined man. Perhaps Amaguq is the only person in the world that Makoto has opened up to about his gambling ... because usually, Makoto is very flippant, like "Oh, I can handle it; it doesn't control me." But Mimi knows this to be the opposite of the truth, since she lives in constant fear of him gambling away their life.
Maybe Amaguq knows how troubled Makoto is about his addiction, and he's talked to him as a merchant/man of honor ... ?

And yeah! The city with all its businesses and stuff will be good ways for our characters to interact and meet and such.
Kai would be all "O___o" but I could see her being cool with it hahahaha
and the earthbenders would be all "omg you are an earthbender YOU ARE AN EARTHBENDER NOT A WATERBENDER.

You know how Bolin was like "I don't know how my earthbending would translate to your waterbending"
And Korra was like "That wont be a problem, I'm actually an earthbender"
And Bolin's all "Oh... I didn't mean to assume, I just thought because of your watertribe getup that you were a watertribe... gal."
I can see that happening with Myung a lot.
But instead of it being that she's the avatar it's just that she is actually an earthbender.
Gaaaah this RP needs to happen more quickly.

YES KAT. I think they should know each other at least and even better be friends. I mean, Kai is in the city on her own and her familia is back in the North Pole so I dunno if her father will really be an active character in the story at all... Haha. But definitely a good backstory for the dads. But yeah! And Kai is also a totally Fresh Of The Boat so maybe Mimi can be like, "hey new kid why don't you stick with me" or something xD

MAYBE EVENTUALLY MYUNG WILL GET BETTER. And actually, Tsuru is a good earthbender but he does have a slightly different style, more graceful and stuff because it's heavily Fujian/White Crane whereas most earthbending is the Hung Gar/Tiger Crane style so perhaps if he does agree to help teach her that will be what she needed, someone who Earthbends a bit differently than most.
EDIT: OMG I LIKE THE IDEA OF THEM MESSING AROUND WITH THE PRO-BENDING. Kai is clueless about it but she came to the city in part to check it out!
And first though, I want Kai to get in trouble and have a close call with a Triad or Equalist before Mimi takes her in lolol because she's such a FOB she looks like easy-pickings (even though she IS a good waterbender)
