See, I don't make a big deal about him wanting to stay out late if he wants to spend time with people he cares about. I do the same thing. All I ask is that he updates me. A simple text letting me know "I'm here, alive, and won't be home until late." BOOM. Simple. Perfect. All I ask.
A few nights ago, he texts me letting me know he'll be out longboarding near an area that I know of. Cool! And he's helping shoot a skate video. Even cooler! He gets home super late, but it's all gravy. He let me know in advance.
WELL. I just found the video now and in the description it lists a TOTALLY DIFFERENT LOCATION (being Downtown, which I am NOT a fan of - and he knows it, ESPECIALLY AT 1AM).
Even if he STARTED skating at the neighborhood and changed locations to Downtown, I would have appreciated he tell me.

I think it only happens when guys want to avoid conflict, but still ... :c
It's one of those situations where the female mindset and the male mindset don't mesh well.

He goes out with the boys, says he'll be home at one time. I don't hear from him forever, finally I start calling him, doesn't answer and he wonders why I am so mad that he didn't respond or answer me. HELLO! I actually care about you and that's why I want to know that you're okay. Doofus!

Brian has really improved with keeping me updated, and I'm proud of him. A lot of the things I used to get upset about don't really bother me anymore. I just don't want him to hide things he assumes may upset me. I'd rather him be blatantly honest and potentially upset me in the process, than not tell me something and now I have reasons to be suspicious in the future.
Whew. Glad that's off my chest. Hahaha. ^^;

This is the CLASSIC situation. We've come so far and grown so much, and the things we used to get upset about don't really apply anymore ... but sometimes he's just not completely open with me (whether he means to or not), and it causes that little twinge of alarm. As a completely open person (I sometimes tell my life story to people I've only known for an hour), I just don't understand when other people don't completely open up to me (especially when that person is my signifcant other). And besides that, I WANT to tell him everything I'm up to ... and I don't get it when guys go into the "man-cave" and don't want to be communicative. |

Haha, I hear that!
Devin used to punch or break something when he lost his temper. He broke his windshield once and another time bashed in his radio.
After that, I gave him an ultimatum and he calmed down and thinks before he acts.
Guys learn after time. It just takes a lot of patience and saying things not in the heat of the moment. lol
