We all have lives now, most of us work or volunteer or such and such, we have multiple time zones and things come up...
Im thinking a five post limit until the majority posts... That way nobody falls way behind or its justifiable if they do.
At least in the start... If it causes problems, we can talk about it here and when people start branching off,vthe rule will have to adapt. Maybe pms with plot summaries of what your characters are doing whenvyou meet up with others. We need strong communication either way. That's why this thread, pms and chat rooms can really keep this going.

Yeah, I'd enjoy maybe a thread for plot summaries of the RP or whatever that would be pretty nice. I'd prefer that over PMs. Then everyone knows where to go to catch up, and we could have summaries for like, say three characters have been interacting and then another 3 have been too and summarize specifically what happened with each so people can see what their group has been up to and be able to catch up with what happened that's relevant to their character.

That's kind of why I never got into RPing much...it became taxing for me to read all of the posts and figure out what was going on. Summaries would be sweet.

Yeah, I definitely like the summary idea. It would be more encouraging to let people join in even if they might not be able to post every second of their lives. Especially since we're all busier people now.

I'll join in on anything, though I can't keep up with the show very well due to having two houses and only one having cable and slow-as-snot dial up internet....So I'll probably get spoiled once in awhile but meh. It happens. As far as being available, until August sometime, I'm still going to be gone on weekends like I've always been. After that though, I'll be around all the time while procrastinating on college stuff! I've been starving for a superpowered fantasy role play too. I've been toying with story ideas lately, maybe some of them could blossom into RP, and then again maybe not. Been thinking of a story about a group of people gathering evidence of "monsters and freaks" that they will then share with the world. And who's going to stop them? The government? Rights activists? Nope, the monsters and freaks of course. Anyone thinking about tying in Longtitle? On that take also toyed with an idea of a freak show circus. Always ready for a school RP. It's classic, and sometimes it works. Or the deserted island theme. Dun dun dun! Apocalypse? Plot...umm. Traveling to get to safe place? Little food or water. Tensions run high. Romances stir and die. CANNIBALISM. Zombies? ALIENS?! Yeah that all I got right now... I'd be game for that, just start off small, like a sleepover roleplay from the old site, and have it blossom into something awesome like it did... DOORBENDER! Cough. We must continue the epicness. Will be kinda hard taking it into the future seeing as Alex isn't Korra and Aang didn't die >.> But we can always adjust it. Ummm. I still love the whole lightbender/shadowbender thing we had going (totally not because I loved my angsty Laruto character...). I'd like to keep with that and branch out on our own version of Avatar, Our version of things as they were are nowhere near close to how it ended up with Korra, but it was still epic. Maybe...refugees create their own small city hidden somewhere where they try to find a weakness of the shadowbenders and train lightbenders. And then there's a spy! Gasp! The shadow army knows! THEY'RE COMING!!!!! Feel free to suggest something else o.o |

I'm always an medieval-type fantasy person more than a modern fantasy type. I'd like to do a Medieval-style zombie fantasy RP... like, some evil person/thing is creating hordes of undead and wants to destroy all life or something... IDK IT SEEMS COOL-ISH. OR GAME OF THRONES-INSPIRED IS ALWAYS GOOD. And then there's this one series called the Malazan Empire series that I'm super into that has lots of good stuff for an RP but yeah. I'll probably make an old-school, high, dark fantasy RP with plenty of magic and shapeshifters and spirits and looming evil and such. I like horror/mystery/high fantasy

I am quite a zombie fan. The Walking Dead is definitely on my "favorite shows" list and I own the Zombie Survival Guide and loved playing the Left 4 Dead games. I'm not one of those super crazy, zombie lovers that has seen every zombie movie ever but I do love 'em.
I LIKE SHAPESHIFTERS TOO. OMG. I WOULD BE A SHAPESHIFTER IF I COULD YES PLEASE.
BUT YES I'M THINKING A HORROR/FANTASY TYPE OF RP I THINK THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTING. I love epics. Lord of the Rings/The Walking Dead/Game of Thrones ... Sounds like a good mix to me. What do you guys think?

I want to RP so bad! I think the idea to have an outside planning thread on the RP is a good idea to keep people up to date and to discuss what characters are going to do, interacting and such to make things a little easier while RPing.
Brainstorming on where we want to bring the RP so that we are all on the same page, right?
So, when are we starting??

Heading home in an hour, gonna post it up then. For now, it'll be a vague avatar themed one, but we can always plan ahead. Give two or three days for peeps to join and create characters and we should be going by the weekend?
At Ara, I kinda like the idea of starting fresh, maybe incorporating some elements from the old one, but we were kinda a niche group, I had three people try to and fail to join the story.
Also, feel free to continue that superhero kind talk, I would for sure join if you started one up...
At Ook, medieval zombie, yes! Also own the zombie survival and issues 1-98 of The Wakking Dead. =)

I tried to join that RP at least twice and never got to get into it.
I understand there's an attachment to your old RP but I think we should start fresh and all do new ones. Believe me, every other RP we tried to revamp always ended up failing quickly. (remember longtitle?) I think the only one that ever had a strong run second or third time was Rankin.
Other than that, it's always best to just bring in fresh ideas, people get more excited about joining them and not nervous about screwing up an old story or not being as good.

Nod Shaun, starting somewhat fresh but still tying in old things. Like the shadow/light benders. Maybe even branch out later into other forms. Like. Um. Something awesome. Yeah. It's still the morning, gimme a break >.> And I think, Alyssa, that goes for anything and anyone. I tried joining in on Rakin and other RPs but it just didn't work out. Sometimes it works for people and sometimes it doesn't. Shaun jumped in after the, what, 2nd or 3 installment? April managed to hang in there in the last one. BD drifted in and out. Like any RP, it's just a matter of how hard you want it or if it feels right. We had several remakes and continuations of this story and it didn't fall apart until the end when we all started getting lives again and the site poofed not much longer. It all depends. ANYWAYS. I had an idea, where did it go....OH. I had this idea on another site a few months ago but that site poofed and I lost interest because those people were terrible at the English language, let along good AF.net RPing.... So since it was a creative writing site it went kinda like this: Take any character from any story that you yourself wrote, and pit them against other's characters they wrote, and see what happens! We have the good guys, the bad guys, and the guys in between. The bad guys are planning something evil and the good guys are trying to find out what and stop them. And the neutral guys pick a side eventually when it gets all going along epically. And we can add nice stuff like an actual plot if you guys are into it. I love the idea personally  |

I want an RP set in the current "Korra" time period. Benders and non-benders. It would be nifty for it to develop as the series develops, y'know? As the Equalist uprising gains momentum, it'd be cool to have the reflected in our own characters or just in our own story. I AGREE WITH THIS SO HARD. Also, any roleplay. BUT THIS. I think it would be just fantastic to have characters that grow and develop alongside the Korra characters. As we see new episodes, and learn about new developments, our characters experience the same thing ... It would almost be a "real-time" roleplay! Except, series-time! We could play characters that slowly come together in Republic City? Or perhaps they're all members of some organization? Or they could be completely random! SO MANY OPTIONS. And we could even have people playing canon characters, if there was such a desire... ! We could create our own parallel universe! ... It's late, I'm getting ahead of myself. All I know is that I want to playyyyy. c: |
