Frustrated with her inability to master airbending, Korra goes against Tenzin's wishes and goes to Republic City's famous pro-bending arena. There, she meets Bolin and Mako, two brothers who are in the Fire Ferrets pro-bending team. She joins Mako and Bolin's team to play in a match when their waterbender teammate quits. Korra initially suffers due to her inexperience, but she is able to help win the match using airbending movements. Tenzin is impressed by this and allows Korra to stay in the team permanently.
