In order to collect enough money to pay off their pro-bending fees, Bolin is recruited by the Triple Threat Triads for an upcoming turf war and disappears. After searching for him, Mako and Korra discover that Bolin and all the Triad members have been abducted by the Equalists. The two determine that Bolin is being held at an Equalist event. There, Amon demonstrates his ability to permanently take away bending powers on the Triple Threat Triad members. Mako and Korra rescue Bolin before Amon can do the same to him.
