I PUT SO MUCH THOUGHT INTO HIM AND KAI I LOVE THEM BOTH.
I like more normal characters these days, like who live normal lives and had relatively normal childhoods but are still very interesting and can do interesting things.

That's typically the type of character I like as well, but it's always been. I never liked characters who are overpowered or like born special. I think it's more interesting to develop a normal character because it's also more relateable, and also I'd rather root for the guy who worked hard to get somewhere than the guy who is the SPECIAL MAGIC CHOSEN UNICORN PRINCE WARRIOR and NO ONE ELSE CAN COMPETE BECAUSE HE WAS BLESSED BY THE GODDESS MARY SUE.

I agree. It's one thing to be talented, it's another thing to be like, I dunno... I just want to stay away from overly dramatic or tragic past-types. I think amazing people are everywhere, even in the most ordinary situations. It's so amazing that people can be so complex just by their own personality and abilities without crazy stuff. Not saying that they have no struggles or problems or faults because those are part of every person and very much add to the depth and inner-workings of a person and make them who they are.
Like, Tsuru is very talented and perhaps was born with a bit of an affinity for artistic things, but he still practices all the time and has worked at it. And his body is a work of his training. HAHA. He is a very hard worker who enjoys finer things and wants to work at making himself able to be someone who can participate in the finer, cultured aspects of life by directly participating.
And Kai is the same way. Like, she's just a girl who likes to learn and adventure and had parents who through their line of work exposed her to people from all over the land and therefore inspired in her a love of travel, adventure and such.

WELL, I think Earth Kingdom culture is mostly influenced by Japanese/Korean culture... would you be opposed to naming her something Japanese or Korean? :'P

Probably more cute, she's not super tough earthbendery. She's a more bubbly fun personality, um... she's not childish but she's very optimistic. Yeah.
So something sweet, practical, cute maybe. Anything like that.

Hmmm I'm liking Myung/Myeong and Noa. Iseul's not bad either but I think I like the M or N sound.

I think Myeong is kinda cute. Like, the spelling is cute for some reason idk how spelling is cute but it is.
AH! Fujian/White Crane style is so graceful. Probably my favorite kung fu style. This is the style Tsuru uses mostly. Earthbending is based on Hung Gar, or Tiger Crane style which fuses the two, but I can see Tsuru using this Fujian style a lot. It's made for someone like him.
