Well, supposedly the government actually does store everything you ever write, read, see, watch, text, phonecall, internet, everything. They don't necessarily go through it all considering it'd be too much with so many people but what if the AFnet gang ever became notorious criminals and they decided to go through all our conversations for clues?
It'd be a tedious job.
